We are prosecuting 56-year-old fake ACP arrested recently - Police authorities give update
- The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) said the 56-year-old fake officer, Kingsley Udoyen, arrested recently is undergoing prosecution
- Udoyen was paraded recently by the former commissioner of police in Akwa Ibom with other suspected criminals
- Frank Mba, force spokesperson, said the suspect had been arraigned over the alleged crime
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force headquarters, Frank Mba, has said the 56-year-old fake assistant commissioner arrested in Akwa Ibom recently is undergoing investigation for the alleged crime.
Mba said this in a short statement recalling that Kingsley Udoyen, male and of 3, Stadium Road, Abak, Akwa Ibom state was arrested and paraded on January 2, 2019.

According to the statement, Udoyen was arrested by the command in Akwa Ibom for being a fake police officer.
Udoyen was recently paraded with other suspects by the former commissioner in Akwa Ibom, Musa Kimo,who is now an Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) in charge of zone 6 headquarters, Calabar.
“The suspect is an impersonator who was posing as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to defraud and threaten unsuspecting members of the public before he ran out of luck and was subsequently arrested.
“He has since been arraigned in a competent court of law and he is currently undergoing criminal prosecution,” the statement said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the police in Akwa Ibom state apprehended Kingsley Udoyen for parading himself as an assistant commissioner of police.
The report said then that the commissioner of police in the state, Musa Kimo, disclosed this when he was briefing journalists in Uyo on Thursday, January 24.

Kimo said the fake ACP had been using the rank to defraud and threaten unsuspecting members of the public.
