Nigeria's Super Eagles ended their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations preparations on a losing note following their 1-0 defeat to the best team on the continent Senegal in Ismaila.

Idrissa Gueye's 18th minute strike was all the Teranga Lions needed to subject Gernot Rohr's men to final test game defeat at the Ismaïlia Stadium on Sunday, June 16.

Once again, South African based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi started in goal for the three time African champions.

While Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze got another chance in the starting line up, barely a week after featuring in the squad what played 0-0 with Zimbabwe in Asaba.

Jamilu Collins, Kenneth Omeruo and William Troost-Ekong were fielded in the back line as Brighton and Hove Albion star Leon Balogun started from the bench this time.

Captain of the Nigerian side Mikel Obi started the encounter and played till towards the end of the match before he was replaced by John Ogu.

Nigeria started the match impressively with the duo of Alex Iwobi and Mikel Obi dishing out superb passes in the midfield.
