Despite his hair being the cause of admiration from others, Braga has revealed that he has been bullied countless times and some people have even called him ugly.

He said: “There was a time, as my hair grew, I was quite criticised; people called me a woman, broom hair, scarecrow, they would cut my hair, they said I was ugly, weird.”

Some people might feel Braga loves to keep his hair long over the positive attention it gets him, but he explained that he actually gets embarrassed when people approach him about his hair and draw others' attention to him.

He said: “Whenever someone approaches me on the street, I get a little embarrassed, because the person always draws the attention of others to me, and although it does not seem like it, I do not like to expose myself much".

The 28-year-old revealed that he started growing his hair in 2012 for no particular reason and he has been called several names because of it including scarecrow, ugly, Rapunzel, Ariel, Jesus and more.

Despite the name callings, Braga admitted that his hair has made him more confident and not care much about people’s negative opinions.

“Having long hair is an incredible experience, for me, hair has taught me to value myself, to have more confidence, to respect me and to make me respected and especially to not care about the opinions and criticism of others,” he said.

Lovely.
