2 Chinese citizens kidnapped in Ebonyi state
- Two Chinese nationals identified as Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu are abducted in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state
- Both Chinese nationals were at a place called Ivo River when their abductors invaded the site with arms, forced the workers out of the pit and took the Chinese men to an unknown destination
Some unknown gunmen have abducted two Chinese nationals who were working on a road project in Ohaozara local government Area of Ebonyi.
The two Chinese nationals, identified as Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu, are employees of the Tongyi Construction Company, Premium Times reports.
The newspaper states that both men were at a place called Ivo River when their abductors invaded the site with arms, forced the workers out of the pit and took the Chinese men to an unknown destination.

The Ebonyi police command which confirmed the abduction of the men said it had dispatched officials to rescue the victims.
“The State Commissioner of Police, Awoshola Awotinde, on receiving information of the kidnap personally led a tactical team to the construction site, owned by Tongyi group of companies located at Ivo river at the boundary between Ebonyi and Enugu state, where Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu, both male, Chinese nationals were forcefully taken away,” the state police spokesperson, Odah Loveth, said.
“The area was combed to track down the bandits but no result, a track down rescue team has been dispatched to move on in order to rescue the Chinese nationals unhurt."

The police spokesperson faulted that the construction company for moving to such lonely site without applying for security from the police.
In another news report, Senator Shehu Sani on Tuesday, April 23, urged governments to take more proactive measures to address the overwhelming security challenges facing the northern part of the country.
Sani spoke while receiving groups from Birnin Gwari, Chikun local government areas and representatives of Zamfara indigines resident in Kaduna.
The groups presented a letter of complaint on the insecurity challenges facing them in their various communities for onward submission to the National Assembly.
