Police arrest 4 Boko Haram suspects allegedly plotting attacks in Edo state
The police in Edo have confirmed the arrest of four suspected members of the Boko Haram sect saying they were nabbed in Auchi, a town in Etsako West local government area of the state.
The police said the arrest of the suspects followed intelligence information from the Department State Security (DSS) in conjunction with the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The Nigerian Tribune reports that a statement Chidi Nwanbuzor, the spokesperson of the police in the state, said the information was that some criminal elements were planning to launch coordinated attacks against the formations of the law enforcement agency in the state.

He gave the names of the suspected terrorists as Salihu Uzovehe, 23; Hadi Miss 23; Tijani Haruna, 24; Mohammed; and AbdulRasaq, 44.
He said the commissioner of police, Danmallam Mohammed, directed the tactical teams of the command to go after the criminals who allegedly doubled as kidnappers.
The police spokesperson said on Friday, April 19, raiding, coding and search was conducted within the Auchi axis which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
“They are the deadly and notorious gang members of kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate that are terrorising Kogi and Edo states axis,” he said adding that an old carton Toyota Valet car marked AG-721-AGZ which contained one pump action gun, two locally made guns, 20 live cartridges, a pair of police mobile force uniform, two face masks and charms were recovered from them.
The police spokesperson advised residents and Nigerians to be vigilant and always report suspicious movement of persons to the police.
