Rivers election: Wike reportedly leads In 8 of 10 LGAs announced by INEC

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Governor Nyesom Wike has reportedly been leading in eight out of ten local government areas where Independence National Election Commission (INEC) has announced their results.

According to the electoral commission, Wike comfortably polled total of 249,400 votes, while his arch-rival of the Africa Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, polled total votes of 106,886 votes, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng notes that Awara is the anointed candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) and minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi in the Rivers governorship election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the governorship candidate of AAC in Rivers, Biokpomabo Awara, had reportedly defeated the incumbent governor, Nyesome Wike, as INEC announced the result from Oyigbo local government area.

Awara floored PDP's Wike by polling a total number of 32,026 votes.
