Niger Government House to get face-lift with N3.2bn
- N3.2 billion have been earmarked for the renovation and reconstruction of the Niger state Government House
- This was made known by the Niger state commissioner for works, Zakari Jikantoro, who said the project was divided into phases
- According to Jikantoro, the first phase which gulped N2.1 billion had been concluded while the contract for the phase two costing N1.6 billion had been awarded
The Niger state government is set to give its Government House a face-lift, Daily Trust reports.
The renovation and reconstruction is expected to gulp a whooping N3.2 billion the report which was published on Friday, March 22, said.
Speaking to journalists in Minna on Thursday, March 21, the Niger state commissioner for works, Zakari Jikantoro, said the project was divided into phases.
Jikantoro said the work on the first phase which gulped N2.1 billion had been concluded; while the contract for the phase two costing N1.6 billion had been awarded.

He noted that the second phase would cover three sets of three bedroom guest house, swimming pool, among others; while the first phase covered the Government House, the front gate and the fencing.

The result was announced on Sunday night, March 10, in Minna at the state collation centre by the returning officer, Prof. Angela Miri.
Miri who is the vice chancellor Federal University Lokoja, said Gov.Bello of APC scored 526,412 votes, while Umar Nasko of PDP polled 298,065 votes.
