The newspaper states that the decision was taken on Friday afternoon, March 1, in Abuja, by the national working committee based on allegations of anti-party activities levelled against the governors.

Amosun and Okorocha won senatorial seats on the platform of the APC in the February 23 National Assembly election but are reportedly supporting candidates of other parties for the March 9 governorship election in their respective states.
