Breaking: Buhari wins Atiku's polling unit

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar at his polling unit.

Premium Times reports that wild jubilation broke out following the announcement that President Buhari scored 186 votes to defeat Atiku.

However, supporters of Atiku claimed Atiku put up a remarkable showing despite losing to President Buhari, adding that the president has always won in the polling unit in nearly all previous elections.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Buhari allegedly won his polling unit, PU003 at Sarkin Yara ward A, in Daura local government of Katsina state.

The president scored 523 votes to defeat Atiku who reportedly polled just three votes.

The APC candidate for Katsina north senatorial district, Kaita Baba-Ahmad, however, lost the president's unit to Accord Party's candidate, Lawal Nalado.

In a related development, the Lagos APC lost to the PDP in the presidential election at the polling unit of its governorship candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to field reports reaching Legit.ng on Saturday, February 23 afternoon after the completion of collation of at the Femi Okunnu polling unit, Lateef Jakande, Ikoyi, the PDP defeated APC by 52 to 48 votes.
