The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, has urged indigenes who came home for the yuletide, to assess his administration through projects executed in less than eight years.
In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, the governor said he would be justified in the utilization of resources given to him, when his more that 1,000 projects are verified, The Guardian reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the statement read: “The governor, Rochas Okorocha, has appealed to indigenes of the state and even visitors who are in the state at the moment for the Christmas to make out time to verify his repeated claim that his achievements as governor in less than eight years superseded the achievements of all his predecessors put together, and see whether the claim is a lie or a statement of fact.
“The governor asked that they should look at Owerri, the state capital, and see whether there have been tremendous changes in infrastructure, and remarked that they should not forget that the same Owerri that is now expanding very fast had, before 2011, stopped at where Concord Hotel is located."
According to him, his administartion's free education programme has worked well, with the school enrollment in the state now at more than one million against 280,000 in 2011. He added that the state has led in JAMB applications from 2012 to 2018.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Okorocha challenged the All Progressives Congress national chairman and former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, to show his achievement as governor of Edo state for 8 years.
Okorocha who made the call through his spokesman, Sam Onwuemeodo, said the APC national chairman needs to stop accusing his government until a comparison can be made between the two's achievements as governors.
