Dapo Abiodun denies claiming to have gotten a degree from OAU

Dapo Abiodun, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, has denied ever claiming to have finished from the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Abiodun during an appearance on Channels Television on Sunday, December 30, insisted that alleged certificate scandal hanging over his campaign was an attempt to tarnish his image.

This has all been an attempt at mudslinging and to confuse the electorate and it is bundled with a lot of half-truths,” he said.

“I never claimed to have studied accounting at the University of Ife. I never claimed to get it (the degree) from the University of Ife. So, this issue has been presented as the presenter wanted it presented.”

He stated that he had a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting but did not make any further clarification.

“I do have a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and I will like to stop at that because this matter will be sub judice if I go any further,” he said.

Meanwhile, dissatisfied with the purported endorsement of an Ogun governorship candidate, a group under the aegis of political parties chairmen forum in Ogun has dissociated itself with the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), calling it an act of political fraud.

The group said the purported adoption and endorsement of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, by 60 party chairmen in the state was totally false.

The body, an affiliate of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), said the pronouncement made by the chairman of IPAC, Abayomi Arabambi was not true.
