The soldier announces that himself and his colleagues were going home; and that the Army should contact them when it was ready to provide the necessary weapons needed for them to do their jobs.
However, the director of Army public relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, stated that the video is not a true reflection of present realities as it was recorded in 2014.
He said: "The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an old video clip circulating on the social media in which a supposedly soldier clad with an AK-47 rifle alleging lack of arms and ammunition, among other soldiers in a remote location walking.
"This is not true, as the video was recorded in 2014 and therefore cannot be a true reflection of the present reality. The public are please requested to discountenance the video clip."

In a similar development, Legit.ng previously reported that some soldiers in the Nigerian Army deployed for the anti-Boko Haram operations allegedly accused top commanders of leading them to ‘Boko Haram slaughter’ armed with obsolete weapons while diverting the funds meant to procure better arms.
The soldiers made the allegations in a hazy video, taken from a camera phone, on Friday, November 23.
An Army officer in Borno alleged that many of the soldiers in the reported video were killed in the Boko Haram attack on Metele. The allegation was not, however, verified.
