Yul Edochie explains why he got married at 22 (video)
A number of celebrity marriages have stood the test of time, despite the industry being full of news of relationship woes.
Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie, is happily married to his wife, May, and they have four lovely kids together.
Not many know that the thespian walked down the aisle with the love of his life when he was just a young man of 22. A lot of Nigerians might find it strange seeing as a number of men these days seem to prefer getting married when they are well above 30.
In an interview on November 4, 2018, with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Rubbin Minds, Edochie explained his reasons for taking such a bold step so early in life.

According to him, his father got married at about that age and his mother also wanted the same for him.
He said:
"My mum wanted me to because my dad also got married about the same age. He had his first child at 23 and I am very close to my mum and she wanted me to do that. Maybe she felt like if i did that at that time, it would help me concentrate more."

When the handsome actor was asked if he felt he could have lived a little instead of getting married so early, he admitted that he felt that way initially but now sees it as one of the best things he ever did.
He said:
"To be honest, i felt that way at that time but i don't feel that way right now. It's one of the best things i ever did for myself and God bless my mom."
Legit.ng earlier reported that the actor who previously declared his ambition to run for presidency in 2019 on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has opted out of the scheme and announced that he is withdrawing from the race.
Before taking a plunge at the federal level, the politician had earlier joined the gubernatorial race for Anambra state which was held in 2017. He contested for this post via the platform of the Democratic People’s Congress (DPC).
