Easy Irish potato recipes for babies
We start our list from one of the best dishes for a child - Irish potato puree. This meal is good for children under two years old.

It is very easy to cook, for two children's portions you need:
- One large Irish potato
- Four tablespoons of milk
- One tsp. Of butter
- Salt.
Cooking method:
Peel the potatoes, cut it into slices, and pour it over with a small amount of water. After that add salt and boil it for 15 - 20 minutes until ready. Then add milk, it must be warm or at least of room temperature. Otherwise, the mashed potatoes will become dark.
It is better to use a mixer to whip the puree. It should become sticky. During whipping, add butter. If the child’s age is more than a year and a half, you can sprinkle finely grated cheese on the hot mashed potatoes.
If you cook for a baby who is less than one year old, it is better not to use butter but vegetable oil. Instead of cow's milk, we add milk formula for the child's age, breast milk or potato broth.
Irish Potato casserole
Irish potato casserole with meat or cabbage is suitable for kids of the same age. It is easy to cook:
- We take a pound of fresh potatoes
- 300 grams of cabbage
- 4-5 tablespoons of flour
- One onion
- Four chicken eggs
Make potato puree of regular consistency, when it is cooled, add raw egg, salt, and flour. After that whip the mixture. Stew the cabbage with onions until ready, and add salt.
Boil the remaining eggs, clean them and mash with a fork. In the baking dish put 1/3 or 1/2 of puree (it depends on the size of the dishes), casserole should not be too flat. Then add the pieces of the cabbage and put eggs at the upside. Cover the dish with a potato layer again and put it in the oven for 40 - 50 minutes. Serve casserole while it is hot, cut the dish into portions and add tomato or cheese sauce.

Needed ingredients:
- Two carrots
- Four large potatoes
- Two onions
- Two cloves of garlic
- Olive oil (or any other)
- 1.5 liters of chicken broth (can be replaced with water)
- Salt and pepper
Chop and fry the carrots, onion, and garlic in olive oil for 10 minutes (the carrot should become soft). Boil potatoes in salted water or broth until cooked. Mix the ingredients and whisk in the blender until smooth. Boil it up, and it is done. Serve it warm to the baby.

Ingredients:
- Potatoes - 400 g
- Flour - 2 tbsp with a slide
- Egg - 2 pcs.
- Onions - 1 pc.
- Butter - 2 tsp
- Breadcrumbs - 1 tbsp
Boil chopped potatoes and eggs separately. Fry the onion at pan until it became transparent. After that, cook mashed potatoes and add salt. Finely chop the eggs and mix them with onions.

Ingredients:
- Three potatoes
- Two eggs

Cooking method:

Ingredients:
- 200 g mashed potatoes (cook and whisk one large potato)
- 70 g butter (melted)
- 150 g of flour

Preparation:
Pour the puree with melted butter and add salt. Add flour, and knead the dough till it feels like elastic. Roll out the dough into a thin layer, and cut into pieces. Each piece should be rolled out thinly, stacked on top of each other and rolled again into a layer of 5 mm.
Cut the cookies in the shape you like. Lay the cookies out and grease them with egg yolk. Bake at 200C for 10-12 minutes.
