Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is in the running for the vacant Egypt national team coaching job.
According to a UK Sun report, Henry was close to be named Aston Villa manager last week, only for the championship side to make a U-turn and keep faith with current boss Steve Bruce.
However, the North African nation are now seeking the France World Cup winner Henry to replace ex-boss Argentine Hector Cuper, who was shown the exit doors after the Pharaohs lost out in their three fixtures at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

Already, agent Nader El-Sayed hinted that the Arsenal legend Henry is currently studying Egypt’s proposal after the Frenchman's advisor held talks with a top EFA board member Hazem Emam.
Confirming the move, former Egypt goalkeeper El-Sayed said: "We had a meeting with Thierry Henry's agent in London, and Hazem Emam was present.
"Henry is waiting [to hear about] the EFA's project for the team before deciding on the offer.
"[That is] apart from the economic aspect."
The 40-year-old Henry is currently Belgium assistant coach. The Red Devils claimed the bronze medal at the summer World Cup in Russia.
Interestingly, if Henry lands the Egypt’s Pharaohs job it would offer him an opportunity to coach Liverpool Mo Salah who already has 59 caps for the North Africans.
