APC NWC dissolves Kwara executive, appoints caretaker committee

- The Kwara state executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved by the party

- The ruling party announced the dissolution of the state working committee and all elected party officials at all levels after a meeting in Abuja

- A caretaker committee led by Bashir Bolarinwa was appointed to head the state executive committee

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved the Kwara state executive of the party.

This is according to a resolution signed by the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and its national secretary, Mai Mala Buni, on Monday, July 30, in Abuja after the NWC meeting.

The party said a caretaker committee to be led by Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa shall be appointed to head the state executive committee. It added that caretaker committees would also be constituted in the wards and local government areas of the state.

“The NWC at its meeting of 30th July, 2018, examined the unfolding developments within the party in Kwara state.

“Specifically, the irregularities that characterised the conduct and outcome of the congresses that produced the leadership of the party at all levels.

“The committee also reviewed the actions of some of the leaders of the party that emerged from the above congresses who participated in an open rally calling on the Senate president to decamp to the PDP.

The National Working Committee after a careful and exhaustive deliberation on this and other developments in the state chapter of the party, and pursuant to the provisions of Article 13.4(xvi) and (xvii) of the party’s constitution invoked its power as enshrined therein and hereby resolves as follows:

“To dissolve all party organs from Ward, Local Government and State Executive of the party in Kwara State.

“To constitute Caretaker Committee at all levels of the party organ at: (a) Ward, (b) Local Government; and (c) State Executive Committees of the All progressives Congress in Kwara State.

“That Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa shall and is hereby appointed as the chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the State Executive Committee of APC in Kwara state. That this shall take immediate effect.”

Legit.ng previously reported that three senatorial chairmen of the APC in Kwara state have urged the Senate president and former governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki to lead them to another party.

The trio claimed that the ruling party, APC, has failed in fulfilling its 2015 campaign promises and has treated those who worked for the success of the party badly.

The three APC senatorial chairs include Alhaji Jimoh Balogun (Kwara South), Alhaji Jimoh Adesina (Kwara Central) and Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa (Kwara North).
