PDP only fooled APC defectors, they can't get automatic tickets - Oshiomhole

- The APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that PDP would not give automatic tickets to defectors

- 15 senators and 35 members of House of Representatives had on Tuesday, July 24, defected from the ruling APC to PDP and ADC

- Oshiomhole, however, said that the doors of the ruling party were open to defectors to return

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has advised the lawmakers who defected from the party not to be deceived by promises of automatic tickets.

Channels TV reports that while addressing reporters on Thursday, July 26, in Abuja, Oshiomhole said there were no automatic tickets for those defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Legit.ng gathered that while he described such promise as ‘a mirage’, he noted that the APC does not need politicians of convenience but members with a shared ideology.

The APC national chairman, however, said the doors of the ruling party were open to defectors to return, but would not be lured with gifts such as dollars or automatic tickets.

He spoke to journalists after meeting with the APC caucus in the House of Representatives led by the majority leader of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, at the party’s secretariat in the nation’s capital.

Gbajabiamila said that the draining of the swamp had taken place earlier while the consolidation of the remaining loyal members would continue.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari met with senators on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Aso Rock Villa on Wednesday, July 25.

The meeting was not unconnected with the mass defection of senators on the platform to the Peoples Democratic Party and the African Democratic Congress.
