Trouble looms in Kano PDP as Shekarau speaks about Kwankwaso’s defection

Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, a former governor of Kano state, says the defection of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a welcome idea.
He however urged Kwankwaso, a former governor too, to abide by the rules.
A report by Daily Trust says Shekarau, though a founding member of the APC, had to leave the party to PDP when Kwankwaso was asked to lead the ruling party after his defection close to the 2015 election.
The report said while speaking through his media aide, Sule Ya’u Sule, Shekarau, now the leader of the PDP in Kano, said he hoped Kwankwaso had changed.
“I hope the PDP has received a reformed Kwankwaso. I hope it is not the old Kwankwaso I knew.
“I hope he will this time around abide by the rules and regulations of the PDP.
“I hope he will not repeat what he did after he joined APC in 2015. At that time, he took over everything leaving us with empty hand,” he said.
“I hope Kwankwaso is not coming to PDP to repeat the injustice he did in 2015.
“If everybody will be allowed to play his card according to rules of the party, that will be better for him (Kwankwaso) and every member of the party,” he added.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state once again hit out against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The governor made his displeasure known when he visited the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and the deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, on Tuesday, July 24.
Fayose said who said he came on a solidarity visit condemned the siege on the residences of the national assembly leaders.
