Breaking: PDP expels Senator Buruji Kashamu from party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Senator Buruji Kashamu from its party.

The senator representing Ogun East was expelled from the party on Monday, July 23.

According to Kola Ologbodiyan, the decision came following the National Executive Committee sitting.

At the meeting, members also discussed matters of national importance.

Meanwhile, the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti state was due to the arrogance of incumbent governor, Ayodele Fayose, the senator representing Ogun East at the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu, said.

The senator over the weekend told journalists that the defeat of the party was inevitable as the people of Ekiti state wanted to do away with the governor, The Punch reports.

He accused the former interim caretaker chairman of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi, of encouraging Fayose to drive away party members in Ekiti state.
