Legit.ng gathered that the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) whose candidate, Olusola Kolapo, lost the election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, has vowed to challenge the results in court.
It alleged that the INEC manipulated the result in favour of the APC candidate.
But INEC in a statement issued on Wednesday night, July 18 and signed by its national commissioner and member, information and voter education committee, Mohammed Haruna, adjudged the exercise as satisfactory.
While it expressed concern over votes buying, it restated its commitment and determination to continue to work with all stakeholders, especially the security agencies, to stem the ugly trend.
The communique also reviewed the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration, (CVR) with a commitment to extend the registration days to accommodate weekend.
While it insisted on suspension of the exercise on August 17, it however, reviewed the registration period between 9 am and 5 pm instead of 9am-3pm as obtains presently.
