Governor Ortom arrives APC headquarters for crucial meeting with party's national officials

Governor Samuel Ortom has arrived the All Progressives Congress (APC) headquarters to have a crucial meeting with the party's national officials.

Ortom was earlier summoned by the party alongside Senator George Akume, the political godfather of the APC in Benue state.

While Senator Akume attended the parley, Governor Ortom stayed away but reportedly called the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to excuse himself from the meeting.

The governor, however, arrived the party secretariat on Thursday, July 19, and immediately proceeded to the top floor of the building to meet with senior officials of the party.

Governor Ortom on Monday, July 16, disclosed that he has been sent out of the APC, and is currently exploring a new option to actualise his future ambition

Suleiman Wambai, north central national vice chairman of the APC, however, responded on behalf of the party, saying Governor Ortom is not leaving the party, stressing that the APC has taken a proactive measure to intervene.

The Benue state governor however, met with leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday, July 18 in Illorin the Kwara state capital, alongside other aggrieved political office holders under the APC.

Meanwhile, the publicity secretary of the APC in Benue state, Agbo Terkula, has resigned both his membership of the party and his position.

In a letter of resignation, dated Wednesday, July 18,addressed to the state chairman of the party, Terkula claimed the APC controlled federal government did not represent the interests and yearnings of the people of the state.

”The APC which controls the government at the centre does not represent the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Benue state," he said.
