How SARS officials arrested Borno governorship aspirant at Atiku’s programme
- A governorship aspirant in Borno has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad
- Grema Terrab was arrested while delivering a speech at the event also attended by Atiku Abubakar
- He was arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder case which occurred in his house
The Police in Borno state on Tuesday, July 17, arrested a governorship aspirant in the state, Grema Terrab. He was arrested by officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) while delivering a speech at the event held in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Premium Times reports that Terrab is wanted by the police for his role in an alleged murder case which took place in his home while he was hosting a political meeting in April.

It was gathered that although, Terrab had reported the incident to the police, his family members including his wife were also arrested by the SARS operatives. The arrest followed the politicians appearance in the state since the incident happened in Maiduguri.
However, his campaign posters and bill boards currently litter Maiduguri.
The SARS team and a dozen of other officers in plain clothes laid siege at the venue of the event.
While Terrab's aides were seen begging some of the police officers not to carry out the arrest, the politician was seen moving closer to Atiku who was guided out of the hall by his aides as he finished his speech.
In a swift move, the SARS operatives held onto Terrab, dragged him away and bundled him into one SARS patrol vehicles.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that some police officers had on Tuesday, July 17, hit the streets of Kaunda to protest the killing of two of their colleagues by some suspected bandits.
The officers in Birnin-Gwari local government area of of the state began the protest after the bodies of their dead colleague were recovered from the ambush.
They also shot sporadically into the air to register grievance over the continued loss of personnel to bandits in the state killing a widow with a stray bullet.
