Chelsea officially announce they have parted ways with Antonio Conte

Premier League giants, Chelsea have officially announced the sacking of their Italian manager, Antonio Conte on their social media handle.

Reports all through Thursday, July, 12 said the Stamford Bridge outfit have terminated the contract of the 48-year-old after two years in charge.

But an official statement was released on the club's Twitter handle confirming the former Juventus manager is no longer their staff.

"During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.

"We wish Antonio every success in his future career."

The Italian tactician became the Blues manager in the summer of 2016 and won the English topflight title for them in his debut season.

He ran into trouble with his employers after his first season at the Stamford Bridge but managed to wrap up the 2017-18 season with silverware - beating Manchester United to win this year's FA Cup.

Conte led Chelsea to a brilliant title triumph in his first year after inheriting a team that finished 10th the previous season.

He won the FA Cup last season and leaves with the best Premier League record a 65.1% win-rate of any manager in charge at Stamford Bridge for more than 100 games.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chelsea are planning to sack their manager Antonio Conte before the club starts preparations for the 2018-19 league season.

The Blues' non-World Cup players are expected to return to the Cobham training ground this weekend for fitness tests and body fat appraisals.
