- According to Kaita, his sons were spared because they were not at home
An internally displaced person from Borno state has narrated his ordeal in the hands of Boko Haram terrorists operating in the northeastern part of Nigeria.
Mohammed Kaita who was displaced from his hometown in northern Borno said he lost his mother to the ordeal. He also narrated how his two wives were abused right in front of him.
He added that while his neigbhour's sons was killed by the terrorists for refusing to join Boko Haram group, his sons were spared because they were not at home.
Kaita said: “They killed my aged mother and rapped my two wives right before me. I had a barn filled with grains but they burnt all including our houses.

"My two sons were spared because they were not home at the time of the attack but my neighbour's son who refused to join the insurgency were slaughterred like rams before their aged father who couldn't survive the trauma.
“I have lost everything I ever worked for but I am very grateful to God for this initiative the PRRPI has brought. I have learnt how to make clothes I am prepared to go home any moment from now because peace has now returned to my village," Kaita said.
In 2014, the insurgency spread to neighboring Cameroon, Chad, and Niger thus becoming a major regional conflict.

Also speaking Amina Bula said she lost her husband and two children.
The duo made the revelations during a resettlement programme by the Northeast, Peace Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Initiative (PRRI) which led to the resettling of 1,000 displaced persons.
The initiative in its 2018 edition tagged "Home Return" organised in collaboration with Entrepreneur Network Nigeria featured various vocational skills in soap making, insecticide, germicide, bead making, reusable sanitary towels, cosmetics shoe-making and tailoring.
Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy secretary of PRRI, Nkechi Odoma, representing the chairman, Sam Ode said, the initiative is aimed at encouraging the returning persons to build a new life in the region that has been affected by terrorism.
Ode tasked the community to return home and start a living but must report movement of suspicious persons to the military and remain law abiding citizens.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that over 2000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Guzamala local government area in Bakassi IDP Camp returned home.
The Nigerian Army said has reinforced security in the locality and that the traditional farm clearing (Sharandaji) to declare the farming season open has been earlier conducted.
It also urged well-meaning Nigerians and NGOs to support returnee IDPs with farming implements and other relief materials to enable them settle back quickly.
