Plateau killers will be prosecuted, Governor Lalong assures

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state on Sunday, July 1, said those who perpetrated the criminal attacks on some communities in the state are being arrested and will be prosecuted.
Lalong made the statement at the mid-term thanksgiving and prayers for Plateau state organised by a new generation church in Jos. He urged citizens of the state to “use these moments of great trials as an opportunity to unite and support government’s efforts at restoration.”
The governor who took time to condole the bereaved over the attack, also prayed for God’s divine comfort.

In a sermon titled: “Be grateful to God,” Reverend Yakubu Pam, admonished Christians not to give up because the hour of victory is near.
Reverend Pam who is the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the north, said that no weapon fashioned against God’s anointed shall prosper, adding that, “Plateau state will rise again.”
Earlier in his welcome address, the host, Bishop Jonas Katung, said the present challenges is an opportunity to stand together as one.

Meanwhile, a former Archbishop of the Catholic Church in Lagos, Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of shielding killer herdsmen and treating them with kids gloves.
Cardinal Okogie made the claims in an open letter written to the president titled: “Dear Mr. President, Call a Spade a Spade.”
He also asked the president to renounce his seat following what he described as the Buhari’s failure to secure the lives and property of Nigerians.
