nPDP pick date to decide on fate within the APC

Members of the newPDP faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have revealed that the group will confirm whether it will stay on in the party or leave at the end of the week.
The Nations reports that the leader of the group Abubakar Kawu Baraje unveiled the plan to announce its decision in a statement released by his media team in Ilorin, Kwara state on Sunday, July 1.
According to the statement, nPDP members would have concluded their consultations and will come out with their stand on all what they stood for.

He noted that whatever decision announced will be one that will seek to promote the wellbeing of the Nigerian masses.
Members of the group who will come to decision by week end are Baraje, Senate President Bukola Saraki, the Speaker House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal among others.
Earlier, there had been reports that the group would leave the APC during its national convention on Saturday, June 23, but that did not happen.

Legit.ng reported that several credible sources disclosed that former prominent members of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the APC in 2013 may collectively move to another party on June 23.
According to the sources, the date June 23 is a symbolic one as it is the day the ruling party would hold its national convention to elect new leaders.
A top politician with knowledge of happenings in the APC said members of the the Kawu Baraje-led nPDP group had concluded plans to quit the APC.
