FG approves N133m for new JAMB CBT center
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the sum of N133 million for the construction of a new computer based facility for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The approval was given on Wednesday, June 27; and the development was made public to newsmen, by the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, Premium Times reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Shehu stated that the construction of the facility would give the board control over its examination processes, and help it avoid leakages which affect the conduct of the annual exam.
He stated: “JAMB had ran their test for people who seek admission for universities using computer based testing agencies which has been attended by leakages over time.
“They have requested for government to buy up one of the CBT test organisations for N133 million. They bought over the infrastructure, equipment and building."
JAMB currently has 602 examination centres across the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, laid the foundation stone for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 500-seat Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre in Benin.
At the event, Obaseki said the centre would add value to the state’s education sector. It was also said that the state was known for hosting federal government institutions.
