Stop killing our members - Miyyeti Allah tells military

- Chairman of Nasarawa state chapter of Miyyeti Allah has expressed worry over the spate of attacks on its members

- He alleged that six herdsmen and 150 cows were killed by suspected military

- However, the leadership of the Miyyeti Allah in the state said that the peace meeting between Fulanis and Tiv is yielding fruit

The chairman of Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Nasarawa state chapter, Muhammed Hussaini, has expressed worry over allegations that military personnel are attacking members of his association in the state.

Muhammed Hussein disclosed this while addressing journalists in his office in Lafia.

“We are worried how six of our members were shot dead by some bad eggs that are in the military. If the military suspects any Fulani man for any crime they should arrest and prosecute him and not to just kill like him that.

“I am not aware of what led to the attack but I was informed that some soldiers just invaded Fulani settlement and shot six of our people including a traditional title holder in the Fulani community.

“If you claim that the Fulani people committed a crime how about the cows, what did the cows do that warranted the killing of 150 cows. What for?" he asked.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Miyyeti Allah in the state said that the peace meeting between Fulanis and Tiv is yielding fruit

Legit.ng had earlier reported that six herdsmen and over 150 cows at Akpanagya, in the Keana local government area of Nasarawa state, were allegedly killed by soldiers deployed to Benue and Nasarawa states border.

Te acting police public relations officer of the state command, ASP Usman Samaila, confirmed this in a telephone interview in Lafia. He stated that the command received information that the military personnel came from Benue and carried out the operation that led to the killing of six people suspected to be herdsmen in the state.
