PDP to Buhari: Cancel your trip to Cross River, visit Plateau over killings

- The former ruling party said that the president should go to Plateau to condone with the family of the victims of killings
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to cancel his planned trip to Cross Rivers state and visit Plateau state over killings instead.
Legit.ng reported that suspected herdsmen had on Saturday, June 23, killed about 120 people in Plateau state.

The former ruling party, however, said that the president should go to Plateau to condole with the families of the victims of killings, adding that he should find a lasting solution to the incessant killings in the country before it gets out of hands.
"We advise @MBuhari to cancel his planned trip to Cross River State and visit Plateau to condole with the victims of the murderous Marauders. Plateau people need you, show leadership, end the killings", the party said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, went to Plateau on Monday, June 25, over the killings recorded in the state. Yakubu Dati who is the state commissioner for information disclosed this in Jos, the state capital.
About 120 people were reported to have been killed in an attack by armed men in Plateau state on Saturday, June 23. The pastor in charge of Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Regional Church Council (RCC) Rop in Barkin Ladi local government area made this claim.
The cleric said the people were returning from a funeral service when they were attacked by suspected herdsmen.
President Muhammadu Buhari went in Bauchi on a condolence visit to the state. The president touched down at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi at about 9:30am on Thursday, June 21, Channels TV reported.

According to the report, President Buhari was welcomed to the state by Governor Muhammed Abubakar and the speaker of Bauchi state House of Assembly, Kawuwa Damina.
