Aisha Buhari bags honorary doctorate degree from South Korean university

The Sun Moon University in South Korea has awarded Aisha Muhammadu Buhari with a doctorate degree in humanities.

Prnigeria reports that the award was disclosed by Professor Hong Young-Shik of the political science department of the university, who led a team to pay a courtesy visit on the wife of the president on Thursday, June 21, at the presidential villa.

“The humanitarian activities of Mrs. Buhari have caught the attention of the world and the Senate of the Sun Moon University, especially her outstanding work with women and children,” Professor Hong said.

The letter conveying the award read “I have been directed to notify you, Your Excellency, on the decision of the University to confer on you, a meritorious Doctor of Humanity (Hon. Causa).”

When receiving the award on behalf of the president’s wife, Hajo Sani, the senior special assistant to Buhari thanked the university for recognizing the humanitarian activities of Mrs Buhari, especially to women and children through the award of the doctor of humanities.

The presidential aide said Mrs Buhari accepts the award and dedicates it to Nigerian women and children.

Sani stated that the wife of the president would continue the work she is doing through the Aisha Buhari Foundation.

Meanwhile, there seems to be trouble brewing for the senator representing Kaduna central as a development tracking group has demanded accountability on some of the projects in his constituency.

Tracka.ng a project by BudgIT enables Nigerian people collaborate, track and give feedback on public projects in their community.

The group in series of tweets on their official Twitter page have called out several lawmakers to give needed information of projects allegedly carried out in their communities.
