- The coalition also passed a vote of confidence on Yakubu Dogara, and rubbished claims that the speaker was plotting to impeach the president
- The forum said it will not allow any individual or group to indulge in character assassination or blackmail against the speaker, because he had done many things for their communities
A coalition of political organisations in Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi state under the auspices of the ‘Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Youths and Elders Forum (DATABO), has declared its unwavering support for President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019, and passed a vote of confidence on the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
The group made this known to journalists on Thursday, June 21, at a rally held in Tafawa Balewa local government of Bauchi state to show their support for the president and Dogara, NAN reports.
Legit.ng gathers that the leader of the forum, Alhaji Salisu Musa, however, explained that the rally was aimed at countering the recent allegation leveled against the speaker by some groups in the three local governments; that Dogara was involved in a plot to impeach President Buhari.
Musa, who described the allegation as mischievous, claimed that the speaker did not only vote for Buhari at the party primaries in 2015, but mobilised delegates from his constituency to support him.

“It will interest you to know that Dogara was one of Buhari’s agents during the primaries. In fact, he used to say that ‘if you wouldn’t vote for Buhari, don’t vote for me; and that always rings a bell in our mind, hence, our unwavering support for President Buhari come 2019.
“I charge those people to provide a proof of video or audio clip where the speaker spoke ill of the president, let alone plotting his impeachment," he said.
Another member of the forum, Bulus Ishaku, said the speaker deserves support from all constituents in view of the numerous development projects he executed or facilitated to the three local governments of the constituency, regardless of tribal or political differences.
Ishaku noted that Dogara had built bridges, farm markets, libraries and renovated primary schools in the three areas.
He added that the speaker also facilitated the construction of the 57 kilometer road in Dass local government by the federal government, and other roads in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local governments.
Dogara had sponsored 10,000 people from the constituency for training at the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadinkowa in Gombe state, on crops production; and others to Israel for training on modern farming, Ishaku added.
