- A collection of serving federal government delegates travel to Russia to support Nigeria

- The Super Eagles will be taking on Croatia in their first group match in Kaliningrad

- The match will be played on Saturday, June, 16, as the Super Eagles begin their campaign

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as the Minister of works, power and steel, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Minister youth and sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung and others will arrive in Russia on Friday to support the Super Eagles in Saturday’s clash with Croatia.

Officials confirmed to thenff.com on Thursday, June, 14 that the dignitaries would depart Nigeria on Friday morning, June,15.

Also in the delegation is Engineer Habu Ahmed Gumel, president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee as well as a number of other highly placed officials and directors in the sports ministry.

They will be received on arrival by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Professor Steve Davies Ugbah, NFF chairman, Mr. Amaju Pinnick; NFF vice presidents Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, other Members of the NFF Executive Committee and Management and the Consul-General in the Nigerian Embassy, Nura Bello Dankadai.

The Nigerian team will not lack support in the other side of the stands at the Kaliningrad Stadium, with members of the supporters club also are also on ground to cheer the team.

President of the Nigerian community in the Russian Federation, Suberu Ozigis told nff.com on Thursday, June 14, that about 1,500 Nigerians living in Moscow, and some 500 who are residents of Saint Petersburg, will be in Kaliningrad for the match.
