Highly-rated French star Antoine Griezmann has snubbed an £87million switch to La Liga giants, Barcelona after deciding to remain at Atletico Madrid, suggests a report coming out of the Spanish capital.
The 27-year-old star rejected the opportunity in an unusual documentary tilted, “The Decision” which enjoyed airtime on a pay-to-view channel in Spain,” according to UK Daily Mail.

In the documentary, Griezmann was sighted receiving advice from family members that include his father, his wife as well as his sister as he raised the issue of over a summer switch from Atletico to the La Liga champions.
Reacting on the development, a cross-section of Barcelona fans took to the social media to throw jibes saying: “Don't sign him president,” in tweets directed at club president Josep Bartomeu.

However, in spite of the ‘negative’ reactions from Camp Nou faithful, the latest move is a clear indication that Atletico coach Simeone is on top of his game.
Recently, he pleaded with eggheads of the Europa League winners’ to ensure that the French international remains at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium next season.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Griezmann has reportedly rejected a deal to join Manchester United this summer, but sanctioned a move to Barcelona.
The forward is said to have agreed to join the Spanish giants in an £88 million deal instead of a move to Old Trafford according to UK Sun.
