Lagos most wanted cultist finally arrested by the police

- A suspect on the Nigeria police most wanted list, Abdulrazak Kareem, has been arrested

- Kareem was arrested for alleged killings, gang war and destruction of property

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Lagos state command has arrested a suspected notorious cultist, Abdulrazak Kareem popularly known as Falapa, for alleged killings, gang war and destruction of property on Lagos Island.

Kareem, who was arrested on Friday, May 1, is allegedly the leader of the ‘Okepopo boys,’ who have been on the police most wanted list for a while.

Sometime in September 2017, a gang war broke out between the Okepopo boys and the ‘Onola boys,’ another cultist group, which residents attributed to supremacy battle in the community, Daily Trust reports.

The supremacy battle which lasted for more than a week led to the murder of six persons from both gangs, while valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed during the clash.

Kareem was said to have earlier been arrested by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Oyo state police command for illegal possession of gun, but was bailed out with N5 million.

A police source said Kareem’s family members and his associates were again making efforts to raise another N5 million for his bail.

The state police public relations officer, SP Chike Oti, is yet to comment on the arrest.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the police have revealed circumstances that led to the invitation of Senate president Bukola Saraki over April 5 multiple bank robbery in Offa Kwara state.

Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood who announced the arrest of Mr Yusuf Abdulwahab, the chief of staff to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Alabi Olalekan, his personal assistant, political said the bandits arrested made confessions during interrogations, indicting the senate president in the process.
