Ghana’s police confirm arrest of 25 Nigerians between 18 and 34 years for alleged robbery

Out of the 30 suspected armed robbers arrested in three separate operations carried out by the Pokuase district police in Ghana, five of them are females while the other 25 are Nigerians with age range between 18 and 34.
The police in the country confirmed this as reported by Graphic Online.
“Those arrested were between the ages of 18 and 34, and the police found suspected narcotics, a suspected stolen car, as well as items believed to be used for their robbery operations.,” the report said adding that one of the intelligence-led operations took place at about 8:30 am recently with the police besieging suspected criminal hideouts within their jurisdiction and apprehending the suspicious persons.

The report said the Amasaman divisional police commander, Chief Superintendent Francis Yiribaare, said the operation was part of the effort to address concerns over the gradual re-emergence of violent crime in the area.
“In one of the hideouts, 19 Nigerians, all males, who took cover in the ceiling of a house and locked up the rooms, were arrested.
“When the police visited a second hideout, six more male Nigerians who had also locked themselves up in their rooms were arrested.
“In the third location, five persons, comprising three Ghanaian men, one Ghanaian woman and one Liberian woman, were arrested,” the report said adding that an unspecified number of tramadol capsules and tablets, five packs of suspected Indian hemp, some liquid concoction suspected to be Indian hemp bitters and Shisha pipe with four and half packs of flavor were also recovered.
The police said they also recovered 36 assorted laptops, 29 mobile phones, 13 modems and pendrives, a Sony digital camera, a Samsung 3D gadget, 13 identity cards, three wrist watches, one Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration number GX 691-17 as well as three Nigerian passports.
The police also found packs of razor blades, five screw drivers and a hammer.

According to Yiribaare, the suspects are in the custody of the Pokuase police pending further investigation into the armed robberies and land violence allegations.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) paraded a medical doctor, Michael Williams, who revealed how easy it is to hack into the systems of Nigerian banks.
Williams who was arrested by the Lagos state police command described hacking the banking system and including government-owned account as the easiest thing to do.
