Smiling police woman gets promotion as assistant inspector general (photos)
The Ebonyi state commissioner of police, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, has been receiving numerous congratulatory messages after being promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
The AIG, who is well known for her enchanting smiles, started her career in the Nigeria Police Force 29 years ago, when she was enlisted as a cadet ASP, National Helm reports.
Legit.ng notes that the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, once said her joviality shouldn't be taken for granted.

He said: “Her joviality should not be taken for granted because somebody who smiles like her can be strict and even difficult.: “I am very impressed with the Nigeria Police of today.”
She was born on April 7, 1963, and hails from Onitsha in Anambra state. She rose steadily up the ladder of police officers’ ranks and was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Police Service Commission (PSC) announced the promotion of 414 senior police officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to their next ranks.
This was contained in a statement made available to news men in Abuja on March 6, by the spokesman of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani.
According to the statement, three commissioners of police were promoted to the next rank of assistant inspector general of police; four deputy commissioners to commissioners of police and 12 assistant commissioners to deputy commissioners of police.
