Nigeria to experience cloudy skies, rainy activities on Friday, May 18
- The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) predicts there would be cloudy morning with prospects of rains in Lagos and Ijebu-Ode
- NiMet predicts localised thunderstorms in Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Osogbo
- The prediction says northern states will experience cloudy weather condition
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy morning conditions over the Central states of the country on Friday, May 18, with chances of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Lokoja, Lafia and Markudi.
The New Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NiMet’s weather outlook by its central forecast office in Abuja on Thursday, May 17, also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 35 and 18 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The report added that thunderstorms activities were expected over places like Jos, Jalingo, Kaduna, Bauchi and Mambilla Plateau later in the day.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning with prospect of localised rains over Lagos and Ijebu-Ode with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Akure, Ibadan, Osogbo, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Benin and the coastal cities during afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 33 to 40 and 24 to 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

“Cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms activities are anticipated over most parts of the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
