Breaking: President Buhari leaves Jigawa, arrives Abuja to commission EFCC new head office

President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Dutse in Jigawa after a 2-day working visit to the state and has arrived in Abuja to commission the new ultra modern head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad disclosed this on Twitter on Tuesday, May 15.

While in Jigawa, the president had on Monday, May 13, launched the N9 billion Hadejia Valley Irrigation Scheme (HVIS) rehabilitation project in Auyo local government Area of Jigawa.

Recall that sometime last year, the speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, gave an assurance that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will get the funds needed in the 2017 budget to complete its head office by December.

Legit.ng had also reported that Yakubu Dogara on Wednesday, May 9, visited the new head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located at plot 301/302 Research and Institution Cadastral District, Jabi, Abuja.

Dogara who was on a working visit described the building as a dream come true, noting that the project was justified considering the quality of infrastructure put in place and the fine finish of the work.

Expressing his joy at the infrastructure, he said: “You can see now, we have an excellent facility. I want to commend all who have contributed to the successful completion of this project particularly the acting chairman, EFCC, and his team. For me, it is a dream come true. This is the kind of thing we want to see”.
