How Jigawa residents received President Buhari during visit (photos/video)
President Muhammadu received a rousing welcome from residents when he arrived Jigawa state for his scheduled two-day working visit.
The president arrived the state on Monday, May 14, and was received by a large crowd of supporters who chanted his name.
The president visited the Emir of Dutse, HRH Dr. Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, at the Dutse Emir’s Palace.
President Buhari is expected to commission projects during his visit to the state.
Meanwhile, President Buhari on Monday, May 14, launched the N9 billion Hadejia Valley Irrigation Scheme (HVIS) rehabilitation project in Auyo local government area of Jigawa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the project will be executed under the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) programme, which is supported by the World Bank.
Even though the president did not speak at the event, NAN learnt that TRIMING is the special intervention programme of the federal government, aimed at promoting sustainable development of irrigated agriculture in the country.
