Governor Okorocha of Imo releases N1bn for road construction in Mbaitoli LGA
- One billion naira has been released by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, for road construction
- The governor said the money was released to a seven-man special committee headed by Calistus Ekenze
- The committee has been mandated to ensure the completion of 35 kilometers of road in the area
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo on Wednesday, April 18, said he has released one billion naira for road construction in Mbaitoli local government area of the state.
Okorocha made this known in a statement by his chief press secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, in Owerri, NAN reports.
Legit.ng notes that Okorocha said the money was released to a seven-man special committee, headed by Calistus Ekenze.

He said the committee would see to the construction of roads in the area which would be an addition to the roads being undertaken by the local government administration.
The governor added that the committee was mandated to ensure the completion of 35 kilometers of road in the area.
Okorocha charged members of the committee not to disappoint the people in the course of carrying out the assignment.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that some residents of Imo state lamented the bad state of roads in most of their communities, alleging that Governor Rochas Okorocha was only developing the state capital, Owerri, at the expense of other communities.
In a statement sent to Legit.ng, a Facebook user, Young Chybyke, said that people of Amanato Umulechi Ideato South local government area of Imo state, where the governor hails, had been battling with bad roads, lack of electricity poles, hospitals and schools.
