The party chairman appealed to individuals and aggrieved members of the party to avoid acrimony and embrace peace across board. He assured party members that he will continue work towards ensuring the success of the Labour Party.
He also thanked all loyal party members across the country for standing firm, noting that they were the reason the Labour Party had remained relevant despite challenges it had faced.
Legit.ng had earlier reported that naring any last minute change of decision, Olusegun Mimiko, is set to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP) from which he had earlier defected while still in office in 2014, Daily Independent has reported.
The report quoted a source in the camp of Mimiko as making the revelation adding that the defection could be done before the end of May, 2018.
It was learnt that Mimiko might be moving to the party with 12 members of the state House of Assembly and one federal lawmaker.
According to the report, Mimiko made the decision because of an alleged plan to destroy him politically as well as the overbearing influence of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti and Nyesom Wike of Rivers state.
