How to unlock Spectranet MiFi

Just like most modems in Nigeria, Spectranet MiFi Modem is a Huawei e5573 MiFi device which is used by most networks in Nigeria to offer the lightning-fast 4G network to their customers. Some of the commonly used Huawei modem devices used in Nigeria are the MTN e5573 320 and the Spectranet e5573 606 variant. It is possible to use some other network sim card on these devices after unlocking them except of Glo sim in the MTN e5573 320 variant. Unlocking your Spectranet MiFi modem will open you to the opportunity of using other unsupported sim cards in it. You will need to download a modem unlocking software and some other drivers to do this. Learn the steps below.

Follow the steps below to learn how to unlock Spectranet MiFi modem.
Step 1
Before you begin, make sure your Spectranet Modem drivers are installed on your computer, and it is up to date. If you haven’t installed it, you need to install it first. The drivers are required for your computer to have complete access to your modem. The best way to have these drivers installed is to install the Huawei mobile partner and the Hilink drivers.
- Visit either of these two websites to download the Huawei Mobile partner: https://routerunlock.com/download-huawei-stick-utps-v200r003b015d11sp01c983-for-win10/ or https://huawei-mobile-partner.en.lo4d.com/.
- Unzip and install the drivers on your computer.
- Download the latest Huawei Hilink drivers from this link: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/d35c3c52.
- Download the Huawei Hilink driver V5 from this link: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/a7f56ed9.
- Unzip the drivers and install them on your computer.
- After the installation is complete, restart your computer so that the drivers can be fully loaded before you proceed to the next steps.
Take note! If you are reading other tutorials, you might come across a file mentioned as the Huawei mobile partner. This file is often a firmware version 23.0…. When this file is downloaded and installed, the computer loses access to the modem and shows port failed when you are trying to flash it with the Huawei E5573s-606 firmware version that we will soon mention below.
Step 2
- After you have completed the steps above, download the Huawei E5573s-606 firmware version from this link: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/fdd25d1a.
- Then download a second Huawei E5573s-320 firmware version from this link: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/3456a7ea.
- Go to this link to download the Universal Master Code generator: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/b7a382bf.
- Go to this link to download the Huawei Code Calculator: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/7fafa131.
- After downloading all these files, take your fully or well charged Spectranet Mifi modem and insert a different network sim card which is not supported by it.
- Connect your modem to your computer via its USB.
- Now, unzip the Universal Master Code generator and launch it. Enter the IMEI of your modem into the space provided on the application and click on the calculate tab to generate a flash code/password.
- Copy the generated flash code/password to your clipboard.
- Now, unzip the first Huawei E5573s-606 firmware version that you have downloaded and run the file. The file name should be something like this “P711S-E5-update_21.110.99.03.00.exe.”
- A password will be requested, paste the flash code/password that you copied earlier as the password.
- If this is done correctly, the firmware will begin to update automatically, and the drivers will be installed. Wait patiently for this process to complete.
- After the process is completed, open and unzip the Huawei code calculator that you have downloaded earlier. Click on the read tab there to generate another unlock code as it will be displayed in the result field. Take note of this unlock code that is generated.
- Now go to the second Huawei E5573s-320 firmware version that you have downloaded earlier also and unzip the file. Run the setup file for the firmware. This will not request for a password this time, but instead, it will begin to update the firmware into the modem immediately and also install the drivers automatically on your computer. Wait patiently for this process to complete.
- After these processes are completed, go to the interface of your Huawei mobile partner. Under the settings, select network settings. A pop up asking you to insert your unlock code will appear.
- Now enter the unlock code that was generated with the Huawei code calculator to unlock your modem.
- Now your device unlocked and ready for use.
