Why NYSC withdraws corpers from Osun school

- The Osun state Coordinator of the NYSC, Emmanuel Attah said some corps members posted to Osogbo High School were withdrawn because of insecurity

- Attah further disclosed that some members of a cult group posed threats to their lives

- He, however, declared that the NYSC will not post anybody to anywhere their lives are not safe

The Osun state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Emmanuel Attah on Wednesday, March 14, disclosed why some corps members posted to Osogbo High School in the state were withdrawn.

Punch reports that Attah explained that the corps members were withdrawn because of threats to their lives from some pupils who belong to a cult group.

The NYSC boss made this known while speaking with journalists at the 2018 NYSC/corps employers workshop held in the state.

He said the NYSC would not hesitate to withdraw corps members from any establishment or institution where they felt their safety was not guaranteed.

According to him, ''I have no reason to complain about the security of corps members in the state.

''The police and the department of state services are always trying. But in 2017, we had to withdraw all the corps members posted to Osogbo High School due to cultist attacks.

''We will not post corps members to the school again unless the school gives us a written guarantee that the lives of the corps members are safe. The NYSC will not post anybody to anywhere their lives are not safe.''

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Emmanuel Attah, the coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps said 49 corps members were sent back home over health issues.

According to reports, Attah disclosed this information in Ede camp, Osun state.

Attah made this known on Wednesday, May 31, during the inspection of the permanent orientation by Brigadier General Sule Zakari Kazaure, the director-general of the NYSC.
