President Buhari visits Dapchi school where Boko Haram kidnapped 110 students (photos)
President Muhammadu Buhari paid a visit to the Government Girls Science and Technology College, Dapchi in Yobe state. Boko Haram insurgents had attacked the school on February 19, abducting 110 girls.
Legit.ng had reported that the president arrived Yobe state on Wednesday, March 14, as part of his efforts to carry out on-the-spot assessment of the security situation in the state.

President Buhari said his administration has shown more commitment to the rescue of the schoolgirls recently kidnapped in Dapchi, Yobe state, unlike what the previous administration of Goodluck Jonathan did during the abduction of Chibok schoolgirls in 2014.
The Tribune reports that the president who made the statement on Wednesday, March 14, during his visit to Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, accused the Jonathan administration of looking away as the Chibok abductions took place.
The president said his administration is resolute in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents and assured the parents of the abducted schoolgirls that his regime will do all necessary to reunite the them with their families.
Buhari said: “Nigerians will readily recall that prior to our coming in 2015, the situation was chaotic with violent terrorist attacks being the order of the day. Terrorists had made life very unbearable for the people in Yobe, Kano, Kaduna, Borno, Niger, and even the FCT, Abuja.

“Our Mosques and Churches witnessed daily bomb attacks. Parts of Adamawa and Borno States were helplessly ceded to the terrorists. But today, we have so far shown clear determination in tackling terrorism which is a world -wide phenomenon.
“We have not only degraded the power and dominance of the criminal elements, our security forces have patriotically exhibited an uncommon zeal in executing their assignment.
“We explored various strategies including regional and international collaborations to exterminate terror. We have re-equipped our armed forces, security and intelligence Services. They are empowered with improved welfare and better equipment."
