Female bomber hits Buni-Yadi mosque in Yobe state

- The female bomber reportedly detonated her bomb when a worshipper tried to stop her from gaining access into the mosque
A report by Daily Trust indicates that a suspected Boko Haram bomber has attacked worshipers in a mosques at Fulatari area of Buni-Yadi, Gujba local government area of Yobe state.
According to the report, the incident which occurred around 5:30am has left two people injured and the bomber dead.
Legit.ng gathered that this is the first time the town is witnessing a terrorist attack since April 2016 after it was liberated by military from Boko Haram in 2015.
An eye witness quoted in the report, Bulama, said the teenage bomber attempted to enter the mosque when a worshipper tried to stop her.

His words: “She detonated the explosive, when the Malam Yakubu decided to block her. She died instantly, while Malam Yakubu and Babayo Makaniki sustained injuries.”
He said that military rushed the victims to Damaturu hospital for treatment.
Yobe state commissioner of police Abdulmalik Sunmonu, also confirmed the attack, saying “one person who tried to block the suici*e bomber is injured but receiving treatment.”
Resident in the town, Malam Baana Isah, said that panic by the attack, schools and market has been closed down until they get assurance from security operatives.
The incident is coming barely 48 hours after Boko Haram killed two officers of the Nigerian military during a clearance operation in Borno state.

This happened as troops of Operation Lafiya Dole conducting Operation Deep Punch II to clear Boko Haram insurgents from the Sambisa forest and the Lake Chad Islands, on Tuesday, February 28, cleared and dismantled insurgents' camps at Agapulawa, Amuda, Nyawa and Attagara; all within the remaining parts of the Sambisa forest.
Legit.ng gathered that the clearance operations progressed further into other identified insurgents' camps around Tchikide and Chinene, where the troops ferociously engaged and cleared pockets of resistance by the insurgents, killing five of them in the encounter.
