Alleged misconduct: PDP suspends Elumelu, 5 other chieftains

- Five chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state have been suspended

- The suspended members include a former member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Ndudi Elumelu

- The suspension was sequel to alleged acts of gross misconducts and indiscipline by the party chieftains

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North local government area of Delta state, has suspended indefinitely five chieftains of the party.

The suspended members include a former member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Ndudi Elumelu.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Sunday, February 18, the secretary of the PDP in the local government, Julius Egoh, said the suspension was sequel to acts of gross misconducts and indiscipline by the party chieftains.

According to the statement, the actions of the suspended chieftains were considered inimical to the peace and progress of the party in the area.

The suspended members include Honourable Elumelu, Barrister Kress Njiokwuemeni, Honourable Chuks Oseme, Michael Osuoza, Chief Emma Eboh, and Kaikene Okolie.

Part of the statement reads: “The decision was unanimously reached after taking a cursory look at the undisciplined and gross misconduct of the above persons, which are inimical to the peace and progress of the party in Aniocha north local government area.

“The indefinite suspension of the above persons takes immediate effect from this day, 18th February, 2018, to act as deterrent to uncultured elements within the party, who may want to cause crisis at any given opportunity for personal interests.

“For the avoidance of doubts, the party in the area will no longer condone any form of indiscipline and unruly behaviour of some members, no matter their political status.”

Meanwhile, Alhaji Sule Lamido, former Jigawa governor and PDP presidential aspirant has vowed to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general election if he gets the presidential ticket of his party.

The ex-governor said this yesterday, February 17, at a political rally while commissioning his campaign office in Birninkudu local government area of the state.

Describing his ambition as a miracle, Lamido dared anyone in power from the president downward to attempt at preventing the will of God.
