- He urges Nigerians to help ensure continuity at the centre by voting Buhari for a second term in office
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state, Alhaji Abubakar Ma’aji, has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari remains the only credible choice in the 2019 general elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ma’aji spoke in an interview with newsmen in Minna, arguing that the choice in 2019 would be between credibility and return to years of massive corruption and insecurity.
He urged the electorate to vote for continuity in order to consolidate on ongoing changes in the country that would set the nation on the path of progress.

“President Buhari has proved beyond reasonable doubt to be honest, sincere and committed to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians irrespective of political, tribal and ethnic differences,” Ma’aji said while commending the Nigerian leader for his commitment in the fight against corruption, militancy and cattle rustling.
He argued further that the profile of Nigeria had risen positively since Buhari assumed duty, because of the high regard the international community has for him.
“The nation’s credibility before the international community has improved and that would attract more foreign investors to boost our economy.
“The President’s track record of real integrity was purely responsible for foreign nations positive disposition to assist in revamping our economic, security and anti-corruption initiatives,” he said.

“What the country needs at this material time is a peaceful atmosphere for which the Federal government is committed to,” he said while calling on politicians to play responsible politics and shun all kinds of political violence and thuggery for peace, progress and political growth of the country.
Legit.ng earlier reported how President Muhammadu Buhari was recently advised not to see former president Olusegun Obasanjo as an enemy based on his recent letter to him, but to take the issues he raised as a challenge to prove misguided politicians wrong in 2019.
Ovo Ofigo, the national coordinator for Buhari Solidarity Movement, who stated this in a statement to Punch on Saturday, January 27, said if Buhari wanted a second term, he should take Obasanjo's letter seriously.
