Nigeria states and their governors names
After the Independence in 1960, Nigeria had only three main regions, there were no contemporary Nigeria states and governors names to discover. The capital of the northern part inhabited mostly by the Muslim people of Hausa was in Kaduna. The western part has its center in Ibadan and was populated by Yoruba in the majority. The eastern part’s capital was in Enugu and this land was mostly populated by Igbo, Edo and Ibibio people.

Only in 1967, the three provinces were turned into 12 states, 9 more states were created in 1976 together with Abuja, the current capital territory, and 2 states more in 1987. 1991 brought Nigeria 9 more states and in 6 new states in 1996.
