Funke Akindele expresses anger over secondary school pupils badly beaten by teachers in Nassarawa

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has expressed her disappointment over the way some teachers beat up secondary school students in Nassarawa state.

Describing the punishment as “wicked” and “evil”, the award winning actress strongly expressed her anger over the way the pupils were beaten with horsewhip for resuming a week later than other students in the school.

She shared the viral video with the caption:

"What? Who is this TEACHER flogging these students? What school is this? I’m so sad seeing this and I must say this act is WICKED,EVIL. Can’t they be given other punishments? Are they not human beings? What if one of them passes out in the process? What of the injuries inflicted on them? I’m so angry! Tani Tisa yi? Pls they should STOP THIS O!!!!!!!! This teacher has to be sacked!!!

TEACH NOT TRAUMATISE!!!"

The video had gone viral some days ago, throwing the social media into a state of shock.

However, Legit.ng had reported that the Nasarawa state government’s education ministry has suspended the principal and two other staff of Government Science School, Nasarawa Eggon, in Nasarawa state over the severe punishment melted on female students who resumed late.
