Fuel scarcity hits parts of Ibadan
- The ongoing fuel scarcity has now hit some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital
- The areas affected include Akobo, Eleyele, Ologuneru and Bashorun; where filling stations were seen under lock and key
- The scarcity has however not affected other areas, where motorists have been seen driving in to filling stations to purchase the product
Some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, are currently witnessing hard times, due to the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), The Sun reports.
Many fuel stations were reportedly under lock on Monday, December 18, due to unavailability of the product; while some which were open, only provided other services.

Legit.ng gathers that some stations in the city were however accused of hoarding the product; with one particular station even waiting for pump prices to increase, and refusing to sell in the interim.
The areas affected in Ibadan include Akobo, Eleyele, Ologuneru and Bashorun.
In other parts of the city, motorists did not witness the shortage, as they were seen driving in to filling stations to purchase the product.
However, a few short queues could be seen in some filling stations like the NNPC station in Akobo, near Iwo Road, where about 12 cars were seen. However, the drivers did not spend more than 10 minutes before purchasing the product.
About 20 cars were seen at a fuel station at Dandaru, Mokola; and the situation was not different at Ologuneru and Eleyele, where only about 12 cars were seen at three pumps.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that twenty-eight ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos from Tuesday, December 19, to Thursday, January 4, 2018.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its publication, ‘Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lagos.
